Pavilion roof

Similar to a hipped roof except with a flat face at its apex. (Fontainebleau, France.)

Conical roof

A roof in the shape of a cone, usually sitting atop a tower or covering a dome. See also The Renaissance Church, here. (Waterhouse Square, Holborn, London, UK.)

Flat roof

A roof whose pitch is horizontal (though a slight incline is often retained to ensure that water runs off). Tar and gravel are traditionally used to seal a flat roof, but more often now synthetic membranes are being used. See also Country Houses and Villas, here; The Modern Block, here here, here; Concrete, here. (Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, Germany, 1968.)
